5 best laptops under $500 for every student in 2022

Innovative Technologies | Laptops & Reviews

A dependable laptop that is very affordable. That is the thing that makes many students’ laptop dreams.

All students are not the same. That means they all need different types of computers to make their lives on campus easy to go by. As a BCom student, all I ever needed was a computer that was reliable in terms of supporting different browsers, the Microsoft suite, who battery also lasted me at last half of the day. Because I often couldn’t afford my textbooks, I depended on Pdf copies, which made a pdfs reader another essential software I needed.

Above all the above are two pertinent issues – Software licenses and Battery life.

Any students’ worst nightmare will probably involve the battery running out at an ill-fortuned time. That is a few minutes or hours before a submission deadline, or worse your computer locking you out because of an out-of-date software. Potentially this could result in loss of date. Very critical data.

In this blog we will review 5 of the best laptops for students in 2022.

The screen is 15.6in which is best for viewing two documents at once and also great for streaming movies especially when paired with the stereo speakers that are powered by Dolby Home Theatre Technology (we won’t tell anyone about that).

4. Lenovo

LENOVO THINKPAD X230 I7 $400

The Lenovo ThinkPad X200 series aimed to provide the same high-quality ThinkPad feel and experience in a tiny but portable 12-inch form factor for the first time, but it lacked various built-in connectivity choices, which may have turned off the same business users it was seeking to attract. Because both models share identical docking connectors, the X230 is backwards compatible with all docking stations supported by the X220. The Mini Dock Plus port alone has VGA, 2x DVI, 2x DisplayPort, and 6x USB 2.0, making Lenovo docking stations one of the most versatile. On an otherwise typical ThinkPad, the flat, evenly-spaced keys are somewhat unusual.

One of the reasons for the change, according to Lenovo, is that the more modern island design allows for a wider target area per key, which should presumably lead to less typing errors. The most significant advantage of the chiclet layout is that it permits the use of a keyboard backlight. Although there are just two brightness levels on the X230, the backlight is extremely bright and will undoubtedly be welcomed by ThinkPad fans. In overall, the touchpad performs admirably. Single-touch operation is responsive and operates as expected, but multi-touch movements such as pinch-to-zoom or even two-finger scrolling do not always register.

This is a great laptop for students in the Engineering, IT and Design faculties. The cost is an acceptable cost compared to the X220 for gaining newer components, better architecture, USB 3.0, and battery life.
