Apple announced a new iPad Air with a faster M1 processor and 5G support, as well as iPhone 13 colours and Apple’s M1 Ultra processor. iPads and iPhones

Apple announced a new iPad Air, iPhone SE and iPhone 13 and 13 Pro on Thursday. The all-new iPad Air is the first upgrade to the Air line-up since 2020 with a powerful M1 chip, 5G connectivity and a 12-megapixel camera on the front. All this in a similar design to the fourth-gen iPad Air. Prices for the iPad will start at $599. Pre-orders start Friday and the devices ships on March 18.

The iPhone SE will use the A15 Bionic and the same chip s the iPhone 12 as well as 5G. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will be available in a new variant of green. Apple TV Plus will add new shows and movies, including MLB Friday Night Baseball with two live games. Pre-orders start Friday and the devices ships on March 18.

Mac Studio with M1 Ultra processor

Apple’s new M1 Max chip allows it to do more with less power than two separate chips. The chip debuts in the new Mac Studio, a computer that looks like a double-height Mac Mini. Apple Studio Display

There’s a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera built into the display, and it’s powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic chip. Connectivity consists of one Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port, to connect your Mac, and three USB-C ports. The screen can also be used for video-calling with Centre Stage, Apple’s video-call tech that follows you around the room, and “Hey, Siri” commands.

Apple has launched its first Apple-branded monitor, the Studio Display XDR, which starts at $3,999 and will be available for pre-order starting March 18. With a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and zone-based local dimming, it’s a powerhouse for HDR, video editing and pro-level colour. The main appeal will likely be to Mac Studio buyers who want a high-quality display for their desktops but don’t need one already.
